WELCOME ALL 4Hers!!

Today I sent out info packets and seeds to all the 4H leaders in the Bitterroot Valley. I want to get the word out that the Ravalli County Fair 2003 will be hosting its own Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off this year. Rumor has it there will be a $50.00 premium for the heaviest pumpkin at fair time. Don't miss out on the opportunity to take home some extra school money.

Growing pumpkins couldn't be easier. Growing huge pumpkins isn't much harder! I still have plenty of seeds to share and just received more from Indiana today.

Just let me know what you need to get started...

Hello again,

Today I received a padded envelope requesting Atlantic Giant Pumpkin Seeds. What was especially fun about this request is that he asked for enough seed for two growers. Bill and Jim are brothers and are going to have a little friendly family competition. I have to believe that most people who enjoy the competition of this hobby/sport, also have a neighbor or family member that also enjoys the same. And thus the competition has begun.

I have one brother in Colorado and 2 in New England that are gearing up to beat their little sister this year.

We'll see!

Pass the word to your siblings far and wide. I'll supply the seeds!

In a recent issue of the Pumpkinnook News e-zine, there were several important websites to help in any facet of pumpkin growing, read on...

When people ask "What's the best thing I can do to grow bigger and better pumpkins?", I usually answer with "read and learn". There is a tremendous amount of information on growing pumpkins but a click away.

We have a lot of growing information and tips in the "How to Grow" section of our site at http://pumpkinnook.com/growing.htm We also recommend you read other information sites, too. On our site, we point you to numerous other content sites. Sometimes another site explains something a little clearer or in a different way that helps you to learn and identify your "strategic plan" for this year's pumpkin patch. Even if you are an experienced grower, you should read as much as possible. You never know when you may spot a new tip or technique to try.

Here are links to what some of the big agricultural schools have to say about pumpkin growing:

Hi Folks,
I must confess there is an incorrect email link on the information I've sent out with seeds this spring. If you have tried to subscribe to the Giant Pumpkin Message Board/Mailing List you probably already realized my mistake. The correct information is:
To subscribe to a Giant Pumpkin mailing list, send mail to
majordomo@mallorn.com
with the body of your message containing only
subscribe pumpkins

You will soon have a plethora of new pumpkin information. I have gained all my knowledge from the above mailing list.

Sorry if this has caused any inconvenience, I've done what I can to correct it at this point.
