On a day of perfect temps and bluebird sky we weighed in a record number of pumpkins in front of a record number of spectators.

Big Sky Giant Pumpkin Grower’s Historical Stats:
2002: our first event, 12 entries from 8 growers ranging from 2lbs to 186lbs, for an average of 109.5 lbs.
2003: 34 entries from 30 growers, 25 1st time growers!, ranging from 7lbs to 500lbs for an average weight of 162.5. Amazingly, 10 pumpkins were over 200lbs!
2004: 39 entries from 23 growers, 18 1st time growers (including the winner!), ranging from less than 1lb to 393lbs for an average of 142lbs.

Here are the details of our upcoming
3rd Annual Big Sky Giant Pumpkin Growers Weigh Off

Once again, this year, the good folks at the Corn Maze will host our event a few miles south of Victor, MT at mile marker 55 on Hwy 93.

Registration begins at 9:00 - 10:30, and the weigh off begins at 11:00 Sharp.

We will have 3 Divisions this year:
1. Children's Exhibition (13yrs and Under) with awards and prizes for all;
2. Exhibition for weighing your extra pumpkins or damaged fruit;
3. Competition with cash awards and prizes

We will have lots of terrific door prizes to be given away to growers in all divisions.

Again, there will be a kidde area with crafts and fun for the little ones, and always save time to get lost in the Corn Maze.

We are very fortunate to have Monty's Joy Juice sponsor our event again this year as well as use of certified scales from Jim Rather of Rocky Mountain Scale Works. One of our 1st year growers, Kate Davis, from Raptors of the Rockies, has graciously agreed to be our Emcee for this years event.
